DCM Speedway Days

Girls & boys, start your engines!

Lean into the bank, gun it out of the corner, race past the other kids, and experience the thrill of physics during  "DCM Speedway Days," a physics celebration featuring several race-themed programs throughout the Museum.

You'll find a colorful fleet of Roller Racers® in the DCM's Open Gallery, where you can exercise your bodies and brains . . . moving the handle bars from side to side and using physics to propel yourself around the track.

Roller Racers employ an intriguing combination of lateral friction, force, and torque that lets riders make the vehicles move, and you can try out your maneuvers, speed tests, or free-form stylin'  each day.

Saturday, June 16—

"DCM Speedway" (10am-12pm and 1-3pm)

Take a seat on a Roller Racer in the DCM's Open Gallery and exercise your body and brain, moving the handle bars from side to side and using physics to propel yourself around the racetrack.

"Father’s Day Speedway Picture Frames" (11am-12pm)
Make a racing picture frame for Dad or Grandpa, and take a picture for it next to the giant “DCM Speedway” trophy after your race.

Sunday, June 17—

Father's Day; the Museum is open 9am-4:30pm on the holiday.
