We're happy to be supporting Doodle 4 Google, a national competition open to students in grades K-12, by encouraging Delaware kids to enter before March 20 and doodle around just for the fun of it.

This summer, we'll also feature an exhibition of students' doodles called Exhibiting Imagination, with the Delaware finalists' competition entries on display. One of them could be yours!

The winning doodle will be featured on google.com, and the winning doodler will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology grant for his or her school, and other prizes.  They could be yours!

Google's annual, nation-wide event encourages and celebrates the creativity of young people.  Given a design challenge, any child can exercise her or her imagination, innovation, critical thinking, and art "muscles"—and lay a foundation for individual, regional, and national success.

The theme this year is:

“If I could travel in time, I’d visit . . . ”

Doodle 4 Google gives students a blank canvas to harness their curiosity and imagine the past, present, and/or future anywhere in the world.

Submissions will be judged in five groups:

  • Students in grades K-3
  • Students in grades 4-5
  • Students in grades 6-7
  • Students in grades 8-9
  • Students in grades 10-12

Click here to download the official entry form and doodle form, or pick them up at the Museum daily, 9am to 4:30pm.  (Para información en español, haga clic aquí.)

Remember, both pieces of paper should be mailed by Tuesday, March 20, to meet the March 23 deadline!

After all the doodles have been submitted to Google, a team of Googlers and then guest judges—such as Katy Perry, Phineas and Ferb creator and executive producer Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, and recording artist Jordin Sparks—will help choose the top doodles.

On May 2, Google will give the final vote to you, and one winner from each grade group will be chosen by a public vote.

The winning doodle will be showcased on google.com May 18—and it could be yours!
